Designed and manufactured in Cibes’ home country of Sweden, high quality Scandinavian engineering and beautiful design are the secrets behind our ever-growing success. Yet what has set us apart in the market, and has resulted in 70 years of continuous business development and growth, is our passion for quality service.
The Cibes Lift head office and factory are both located in Gavle, Sweden, where the company was originally founded. We made the conscious decision to keep all our core activities in Sweden in order to ensure our product quality, company values and our brand all stay true to our organisational roots. Over the years, Cibes Lift Group has manufactured and sold 70,000 lifts in over 70 countries via our worldwide distribution network and local Cibes Lift Group offices.

History of Cibes Lift Group
Cibes Lift was founded in 1947, when Swedish lift innovator Mr Bertil Svedberg started a manufacturing company for Goods Lifts. In the mid 1960’s the first generation of passenger lifts were launched.
Cibes Lift continued to grow and the first series of platform lifts were developed in a factory in the small village of Järbo, in the early 2000’s. In 2012 Cibes Lift became Cibes Lift Group and moved its head office and manufacturing facilities to Gavle, 200km North of Stockholm.
Since then Cibes Lift Group has grown in to one of the world’s largest manufacturers of low-speed lifts, with a worldwide distribution network that has seen our lifts sold in more than 50 countries worldwide.
Fast international expansion
Before 1989, Cibes Lift did not sell any lifts outside of Sweden. However in 1996 the company began to expand into the European market and today Cibes Lift Group has subsidiaries in nine countries and delivers lifts worldwide through a global network of 200 distributors.
Cibes Lift Group is one of the founding members of EPSA (European Platform and Stairlift Association) working towards consistency between EU standards and national legislation. Cibes Lift Group is also a member of the Technical Committees TC10/WG8 and TC10/WG13, groups dedicated to developing existing and upcoming EU standards for low-speed lifts.
