A 10-Step Guide to Purchasing a Home Lift

Home lifts are a great way to provide you with freedom and easy access to all areas of your home, making it simpler to carry out day-to-day activities. There are many things to consider and choosing the right lift for you can be tricky! We have devised a 10-step guide to purchasing a home lift to make this process easier for you.

1. Determine if you need a home lift

In some cases, a lift is not needed, and a ramp can solve the issue. If you are needing it to get up only a few stairs into your house, a ramp could do the job. However, if you are needing it to get up to the top floor, then a home lift is definitely needed.

2. Measure the space you want to install the lift

To determine what type of home lift you will need, consider how many people you want the lift to carry and if the lift will need to accommodate a wheelchair, as this will impact the size of it. Also, make sure there is space available for the lift!

3. Consider how many floors you want the lift to serve

This will determine whether the lift should be enclosed or not, again helping to determine what type of lift you will need. If the lift is travelling up floors then it will need to be enclosed for safety, if it’s travelling up a small height then an unenclosed lift would most probably be more suitable.

4. What type of lift do you require?

At Cibes we offer 5 different lift models; B3000 Open Style Lift, A4000 Home Lift, A6000 & A9000 Passenger Lift, A8000 Goods Lift and A5000 Platform Lift, we know these names will probably mean nothing to you in understanding their purpose, click HERE to compare these different models to find out which one suits your requirements and needs.

5. How will it look in your home?

Your lift should adapt to your home and not the other way round, you don’t want to invest in something that will put the value down on your house! With Cibes UK we give you the option to create a totally unique and customisable lift design that will perfectly match the aesthetics in your home! Your choice of colour and materials is what makes the lift design an integral part of your project, you can try out different lift designs by using our creative tools on the Cibes Lift Creator or the Cibes AR App, this offers a completely immersive way for you to see where the lift would go and what it would look like inside your space. It’s an experience that no one else provides.

6. What budget are you working to?

This is probably one of the most important factors in purchasing a home lift, they can be a big investment, however, you can’t put a price on freedom especially in the comfort of your own home! You can always contact your local Cibes dealer to book a free lift consultation in your home, with no strings attached.
